About the role
Description:
As a member of a dynamic development team, the Intermediate System Designer will be responsible for system architecture, key hardware technology selection and understanding software interactions with hardware for carrier-grade Optical Network Terminals(ONTs) Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE)
What You’ll Do
- Work together with hardware engineers, software engineers and quality assurance engineers to ensure products meet design specifications and performance requirements
- Performance optimization by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve speed, reliability and capacity of the network elements.
- Investigate customer HW and system related issues
- Creating and maintaining technical documents for network design, configuration and troubleshooting procedures.
- Stay current on the latest technology and best practices.
Requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent coupled with 5+ years' experience in Optical, RF, or Wi-Fi network equipment design for Broadband Technology
- Experience with network design tools like Mathcad, GNPy for example
- Experience with network hardware (transceivers, routers, switches, WiFi ONT, OLTs)
- Excellent communication skills
- Foster Collaboration
- Ability to debug complex issues
Assets You May Possess
- Experience with carrier-grade system requirements
- Experience with a variety of telecommunications standards would be an asset
- Experience with high-speed digital devices and RF signal analysis would be an asset
- Experience with scripting languages would be an asset
