The Opportunity: The HR Coordinator is responsible for coordination and support of various Human Resources (HR) services
and programs including employee records & reporting from the HR information system (HRIS); recruitment
processes; liaison with Payroll; departmental records; and administration of employee benefits programs and
OMERS.
What you will do:
- Maintain employee records in HRIS and liaise with Payroll, to support employee lifecycle, including setting-
up new hires, monitoring follow-ups, leaves, and terminations, and processing related changes
- Administer recruitment processes, including maintaining internal & external career pages, advertising,
screening resumes, coordinating interviews and reference checks, preparing new hire documentation,
initiating orientation and onboarding processes, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Provide administrative support and coordination, including confidential correspondence and scheduling, for
the Director and other members of the HR team.
- Develop and generate HR reports, metrics and analytics to support various HR services and programs
- Assist with annual compensation reviews and complete/ participate in surveys on behalf of the District.
- Assist and/or lead coordination and implementation of various HR special projects and assignments
- Maintain employee and departmental files and record keeping systems on SharePoint
- Administer OMERS and employee benefits programs, including setting up employees, processing
changes, coordinating annual reviews, liaising with carriers, quarterly reporting, and annual reviews.
- Provide compensation and benefits data and projections to support annual budget preparation and in
support of collective bargaining.
- Provide support and guidance to employees and managers with standard interpretation and
implementation of HR policies, procedures, and practices, and process corresponding documentation
- Process annual vacation and sick entitlements and provide periodic reports to managers to ensure
compliance with policies
- Coordinate, track and follow-up on corporate training initiatives, which may include participants from all
departments, as well as Area Municipal partners and District Councillors.
- Coordinate and support employee related corporate events including; long service awards, retirement
information sessions, and other staff appreciation events.
- Work safely and in compliance with relevant statutes and regulations and within the safe work procedures
and directives as established by the District.
What you will need:

Three (3) year post-secondary education, preferably in HR or benefits administration or equivalent.

Two (2) to three (3) years related HR experience.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, internet and web-based applications.

Human Resource information systems (HRIS) experience an asset.

General knowledge of acts, regulations and legislation related to HR.

General knowledge of recruitment and selection practices.

Good interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
-
Excellent ability to attend to details and be tactful to handle sensitive situations with ease.

Ability to work within a team environment, deal with multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
