Do you have solid experience processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and performing GL reconciliations? Are you able to process data quickly and efficiently? Can you explain processes in a customer oriented and effective way? Are you an adaptable professional who thrives in a changing environment? The successful candidate will be responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers and account reconciliations, monthly closings and processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Process accounts payable including entering invoices, matching and preparing payments (cheques, EFTs, wires, bill payments)
  • Communicate with TVO departments and vendors regarding status of payables and resolve any payment or invoices issues on a timely basis
  • Monitor and process accounts receivable, including creating sales invoices based on departmental needs, applying customer payments, reconciling customer accounts, and following up on outstanding payments
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly bank and other general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with processing of month-end, quarter-end and year-end activities as assigned
  • Prepare monthly adjusting journal entries and general ledger account analysis
  • Assist operational departments as required
  • Assist with preparation of year-end working papers and completion of year-end audit
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring To TVO

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Navision considered an asset
  • Strong team player with a customer focused approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders/customers
  • Self-motivated, flexible, organized and possess strong time management skills
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication verbal and written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to details.
