The Senior HR Co-Ordinator will play a crucial support role within the People & Culture Canada team, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Their responsibilities will include a mix of administrative and HR-specific tasks, such as those shown below.
Reporting into the Senior Manager of People & Culture, the Senior HR Co-Ordinator will handle the foundational tasks that enable the HR department to function efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with employment-related queries from employees and Managers, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the Senior Manager of People & Culture, where appropriate
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, including maintaining digital employee files and HR documentation
- Support Senior Manager of People & Culture on various HR strategies, initiatives and engagement programs that reflect organizational culture and global values
- Respond to requests from COEs, such as Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits and HRIS team
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding-related activities
- Support Leaves of Absence (LOAs) and Modified Duty/Return-to-Work programs, including coordination with employees, managers and Benefits team as needed
- Support with inquiries related to the Workforce Management (WFM) system, escalate issues and troubleshooting to Global HRIS
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws, specifically within the province of Ontario (Employment Standards, AODA, Occupational Health & Safety Act, WSIB)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR Information Systems
- Adaptable with a growth mindset and willingness to learn, grow and develop
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness
- Strong tact, influencing, judgment and consultative skills
- Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management
- CHRP Designation preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience, in a comparable HR role, preferably in a fast-paced, large global organization
