Position Summary

SAP Technology Architect (BASIS):

We are looking for a seasoned SAP BASIS Architect to lead SAP technical operations, system architecture, and enterprise transformation initiatives across on-premise and cloud environments. This is a senior-level role responsible for technical leadership, client advisory, and pre-sales solutioning - ideal for professionals who want to influence both the delivery and strategic direction of SAP projects. You will act as a key pillar in shaping the SAP landscape for our clients, supporting complex SAP infrastructure decisions, SAP transformation / migrations, and SAP BTP adoption.

You will play a pivotal role in SAP transformation roadmaps, legacy modernization, integration architecture, and innovation enablement. The ideal candidate will support both internal SAP practice growth and client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP System Architecture & Landscape Design

  • Design and manage robust and scalable SAP landscapes across ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, Fiori, and SAP BTP

  • Define enterprise-grade infrastructure strategies: high availability, DR, system sizing, backup & recovery

  • Advise on SAP system conversions, selective data transitions, and greenfield deployments

  • SAP BASIS Administration & Technical Operations

  • Manage system installations, configurations, patches, kernel upgrades, and performance tuning

  • Handle HANA database administration, monitoring, memory/performance optimization

  • Maintain transport management systems (TMS), client strategies, Solution Manager, and system refreshes

  • Cloud & Hybrid Landscapes (RISE, BTP, Hyperscalers)

  • Lead technical enablement and operations for SAP systems on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, SAP RISE)

  • Set up and support SAP BTP subaccounts, destinations, Cloud Connector, and extensions

  • Guide hybrid architecture involving on-prem and cloud-based SAP systems

  • Integration & Security

  • Support secure integration via SAP PI/PO, Integration Suite, OData, Web Services, and 3rd party APIs

  • Manage SSL certificates, SSO, SAML, SAP Router configuration, and secure transport of sensitive data

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, audit controls, and SAP security standards

  • Pre-sales & Client Advisory (Strategic Role)

  • Participate in pre-sales activities by shaping technical solution architecture and effort estimates

  • Support proposal writing, RFP responses, and customer workshops with BASIS/infrastructure expertise

  • Act as trusted advisor to client IT teams, helping define technical roadmap, SAP sizing, and cost-effective infrastructure strategy

  • Represent the SAP BASIS domain in client governance meetings and architecture review boards

  • Practice Leadership & Mentorship

  • Drive continuous improvement by developing reusable scripts, SOPs, and monitoring templates

  • Contribute to internal knowledge base and SAP practice growth initiatives

  • Mentor junior BASIS consultants and provide technical leadership across projects

  • Practice Development & Client Advisory

  • Support pre-sales by shaping SAP solutions for RFPs, proposals, and PoCs

  • Advise clients as a trusted technical advisor on SAP roadmaps, scalability, and modernization

  • Help build the SAP practice through capability development, knowledge sharing, and standardization

  • Contribute to reusable architecture assets, reference models, and accelerators

  • Technical Governance & Delivery Oversight

  • Review and approve technical designs, developments, and custom enhancements

  • Ensure alignment with architecture principles, security, and clean core guidelines

  • Lead governance forums with project teams and stakeholders

  • Establish coding standards, DevOps pipelines, and release controls

  • Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with functional consultants, data architects, and enterprise architects

  • Engage with business leaders, CIOs, and project sponsors during solution design

  • Provide thought leadership in architecture boards and digital strategy workshops

Requirements

  • Core Technical Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP BASIS administration and architecture roles

  • Strong experience in:

  • SAP NetWeaver (ABAP/Java), ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Fiori

  • HANA DB administration and tuning

  • SAP S/4HANA conversion preparation and execution (Readiness, SUM, DMO)

  • Cloud platforms: RISE with SAP, BTP, AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Integration monitoring, interface troubleshooting, system log analysis

  • Security & Compliance

  • Understanding of SAP Security basics: roles, authorizations, profile parameters

  • Experience with audit-readiness, system hardening, and identity management (SAML/SSO)

  • Certifications

  • SAP BASIS / S/4HANA System Administration

  • ITIL Foundation or other operations governance frameworks (bonus)

  • TOGAF or cloud architecture certification (AWS/Azure/GCP – SAP specialization)

  • Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership, planning, and client-facing communication skills

  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of large technical workstreams

  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and risk assessment

  • Comfortable advising CxO-level stakeholders on technical architecture and costs

Languages:

  • Fluent in English & French.
