About the role

The Position Leads the development, implementation, marketing, analytics and management of ongoing patient support programs across multiple therapeutic areas at BICL. Independently designs, manages, and monitor programs that enhance patient access, initiation, adherence and persistence on therapy, while ensuring all activities are compliant with internal policies and external regulations. Furthermore, the manager will lead the development of a patient Integrated Customer Plan (ICP) resulting in patient activation. The position functions as a subject matter expert on patient/reimbursement support services and collaborates cross functionally with vendors, customers and commercial terms with the objective of enhancing and improving the overall effectiveness of the PSP measured by customer satisfaction and usage.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Support Programs:

  • Accountable and responsible for all PSP program budgets and activities across multiple therapeutic areas, with responsibilities spanning strategic planning, operational execution, cross-functional coordination, governance, and performance optimization.

  • Analyse and utilize data from the HeadStart Program, market insights, Advisory Boards and other business information sources to create Patient Support Program (PSP) forecasts, dashboard and provide ongoing insights and progress updates to the brand teams

  • Run regular business reviews with the brand teams and vendors. Work with brand teams and market insights to continuously improve the PSP program and measure effectiveness, customer satisfaction, usage and areas for improvement

  • Execute corrective actions and issues management when needed. Securing internal governance approvals and ensuring all program activities operate within legal and regulatory frameworks, including pharmacovigilance and data privacy obligations

  • Oversee PSP branding materials (concept and execution) by leading the agency(s) of record and conveying brand intent to support key business objectives in collaboration with Customer Marketing

  • Work with medical leads to support publication of data from the program. Provide on–going communication of changes and updates to PSP products, services and economic and scientific research to optimize success of program with internal and external customers.

  • Identify communication needs and preferred communication channels and styles to improve patient and customer satisfaction

  • Attend outside meetings or events, as appropriate, to stay abreast of national, local and regional changes, trends of other activities that may impact patient support programs. Interacts with customers to gain feedback and co–create solutions.

  • Operationally, this role oversees the execution of these programs form initial design through launch and ongoing management, acting as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors, handling contracts, and ensuring service delivery meets compliance and quality standards on both local and global levels

  • Patient Integrated Business Plan/ Integrated Customer Plan (IBP/ICP):

  • In conjunction with the brand teams, develop and implement strategic and tactical integrated brand planning for patients across all PSPs and ensure it is weaved into the individual therapeutic area ICPs/tactical plans

  • Identify innovative marketing opportunities and solutions in conjunction with customers, for the optimal and safe use of BICL products using the PSP. Design patient level ICPs in order to drive patient activation to achieve business objectives for the brands.

  • Co–create patient solutions with patients, patient advocacy groups, physicians and nurses. Utilize a digital first approach in constructing technological solutions to drive patient engagement and activation

  • Together with procurement, negotiate contract(s) with vendors to attain projects and programs in a cost effective manner. Continuously explore opportunities for further efficiencies and cost savings within the PSP program. Act as communication lead between vendors and BICL and between the TAs that utilize the PSP program

This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible .

Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in nursing or pharmacy preferred
  • A strong foundation of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry experience, ideally with minimum of 7+ years in pharmaceutical industry (specialty sales, account management, marketing, medical affairs)
  • Minimum 3+ yrs in a role directly involving the design, execution or management of a patient support program
