About the role

As a Product Manager II, you will form an integral part of a team that is directly connected to our customers, and you will be an integral part in solving high order business problems thus creating value outcomes and solutions to our customers.

This role is a 6 month fixed term position.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Customer Engagement

  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the needs of our customers, identify opportunities, and co-create product roadmaps that will solve real life problems for our customers.
  • Have regular individual contact with customers and users as a representative of the Product Team.
  • Act as product expert and provide customer support to ensure customer adoption.
  • Identify preventative measures on issues that may result in customer dissatisfaction and escalate these timeously to relevant specialist.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the policies, legislative and regulatory constraints the customer operates within and contribute to the alignment of product solutions accordingly.
  • Provide input and create customer reporting as required.

Product Management

  • Prioritize the search for new product value, seeking ideas sources that include from segment directors, customers, partners, executives, engineers and Seequent Lab.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to determine improvements to existing products or to determine prototyping ideas for new products.
  • Lead continuous product discovery activities, with a focus on assessing value risk, in partnership with Product Design and Engineering.
  • Plan, schedule and monitor work to meet given objectives and processes to time and quality targets.
  • Contribute thorough product knowledge, to support engineering in product development and delivery.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of business risk.
  • Provide and prepare reports to support the Manager, Product Management to understand trends and performance within the product domain.

Cross Functional Relationships

  • Collaborate with engineering and business/customer intelligence colleagues to create systems that support the needs of the product team.
  • Work as a first-class partner with product marketing and segment marketing.
  • Seek divergent opinions and manages group dynamics to converge on innovative solutions.
  • Engage with and contributes to the work of cross-functional teams to ensure that customers and user needs are being met throughout the deliverable/scope of work.
  • Have established high-trust cross-functional relationships with colleagues adjacent to their direct team.
  • Participate in external activities related to own specialism.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the applicable domain, or related domain discipline, with a post-graduate qualification highly regarded.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Seequent products, or equivalent commercial products.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in Product Management.
  • Thorough domain knowledge and/or experience with the ability to apply the knowledge effectively in unfamiliar situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the value proposition, key workflows, and underlying architecture of the product.
  • Knowledge of the product fit into solutions for the Segments and Industries served by the product.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the product portfolio, market sizes, competitors and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of business processes, sales channels, brand, and marketing that supports the success of the product.
  • Proven ability to analyse market, product usage, and customer success data to make projections on the product's performance and to create plans for improvement.
  • In depth knowledge of the customer lifecycle and related business or product metrics to understand the efficacy of our products and user journeys to support the organization's and its customers' desired outcomes.
  • Contribute specialist expertise to requirements definition in support of proposals.
  • Ability to derive priorities from a product vision and to collaborate with the team to deliver on the product vision.

Office-based working environment, work from our Vancouver office two or more days per week.
