About This Opportunity As the Distribution Center Lead Supervisor, you will report into the Senior Distribution Center Manager based out of Brampton.
The Brampton DC delivers 33 million standard physical cases per annum, operating 24 hours a day 6 days a week to service customers in the GTHA.
This is a new position supporting the Distribution Centre Team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 5 direct reports while promoting a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver against Key Performance Indicators or KPIs through development and consistent execution of processes across the Distribution Center.
- Work collaboratively across all departments to understand specific needs as relates to managing the people (celebrations, investigations, mentorship, etc) and finances of the department.
- Manage, train, and develop a team of Distribution Center Analysts and Administrators with a focus on supercharging their potential.
- Track and report weekly overtime results against targeted LL.
- Track and report weekly spending results against the Profit and Loss statements in Warehouse, Distribution, Fleet and Equipment Service.
- Work collaboratively with IPT, Production, Sales and Planning on inventory management to minimize waste.
- Coordinate the yearly uniform process for the distribution center.
- Coordinate staffing requirements including manning reports for the distribution center and support the hiring process.
- Coordinate training for all new hire and permanent employees, working collaboratively with department heads.
- Support the special projects supervisor in management of contractors.
- Other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience required.
- Previous supervisory experience in distribution center in a unionized environment preferred.
- Knowledge of the software utilized in distribution centers preferred.
- Ability to work different shifts to accommodate requirements.
- Ability to work under time constraints in meeting deadlines required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and proactively upstream and downstream.
- Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds required.
