Shift: Monday to Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
Summary:
The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for driving growth, maximizing retention, and ensuring the overall health of a portfolio of assigned accounts while actively prospecting for new business opportunities. Building strong customer relationships through regular in-person meetings is a priority, complemented by phone, video, and email interactions. The AM acts as a trusted advisor and customer advocate, identifying opportunities, resolving issues, and delivering tailored solutions that align with customer needs and company goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with key customers by understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Ensure retention and growth of existing business while identifying and pursuing new opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular business reviews with customers, leveraging CRM, internal data, and market intelligence to uncover insights and growth potential.
- Negotiate rates and present pricing requests in collaboration with the Pricing Department; ensure timely review and renewal of agreements.
- Act as a customer advocate within the company, conveying customer-specific needs and ensuring alignment across departments.
- Secure and renew sales, keeping customers informed on company services, rates, delivery schedules, and policies.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate customer visits, tradeshows, and industry events as appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of services, proactively resolving service issues or recurring problems.
- Review portfolio performance, including revenue, service, and profitability, and take action to maintain account health.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in CRM, including updating contacts, logging meetings, and tracking opportunities.
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost savings for both the customer and the company.
- Prepare weekly sales summaries and updates to management.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions that may affect customers or strategy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience (industry experience preferred but not required; training will be provided).
- Must be fluently bilingual in English and French (oral and written).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to go the extra mile to meet client and company needs.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour work week.
- The role involves a balance of remote engagement and regular in-person customer visits, with occasional travel for meetings, tradeshows, and industry events.
