We are looking for a Recreation Aide to join our Point Grey Private Hospital team in Vancouver, B.C

Shifts: 2 Days per Week (Saturday & Sunday)
What does a Recreation Aide do?
- Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
- Assists residents to and from programs as required.
- Assists encourage and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required.
- Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
- Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
- Actively participates in meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
- Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program
- Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset.
- Health Care Provider level First Aid Certificate (Current)
- Proof of COVID vaccination

Point Grey Private Hospital is located in Vancouver’s ocean-side community of Kitsilano.
Point Grey, significantly expanded and improved in 2020, offers 153 licensed residential care beds consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms.
Point Grey boasts views of the mountains and ocean as well as large windows and homelike furnishings. This home has four stories with a dining area, recreation areas and a large outdoor patio on each floor. The desirable location and freshly decorated interior provides our clients with a comfortable and homelike environment.
Point Grey Private Hospital works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to offer funded beds but also has five private pay rooms available
