Enterprise Recruiter – Permanent, Full-Time

At Book Depot Inc., our success is driven by our people – and how we find them matters. We’re looking for an Enterprise Recruiter who thrives on finding and hiring the right people, while balancing speed, quality, candidate experience and scalable hiring practices across the business.

This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership of hiring outcomes and wants to influence how we attract, assess, and select talent across multiple brands. You won’t just fill roles, you will build pipelines, strengthen decision-making, and directly impact business performance through great hiring.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 and is an in-office role.

What you’ll own

You will lead and deliver end-to-end recruitment across the business, balancing high-volume hiring with specialized roles, while building systems that scale.

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Owning the hiring process from intake through offer across all brands
  • Partner with leaders to understand business needs, timelines, and success profiles
  • Deliver timely, high-quality hires while maintaining a strong candidate experience

Pipeline and Sourcing Strategy

  • Build proactive, sustainable candidate pipelines, especially for high-volume roles
  • Adjust sourcing strategies to meet evolving business needs
  • Manage evergreen requisitions to ensure continuous hiring flow

Hiring Partnerships

  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers
  • Guide decision-making with structured, fair, and informed processes
  • Ensure alignment between role requirements, compensation, and market realities

Quality, Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all hiring practices are compliant with applicable legislation and internal standards (ESA, OHRC, etc.)
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation and audit-ready processes
  • Uphold unbiased, consistent hiring practices across all roles

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to improve recruitment processes
  • Use data to refine hiring strategies and reduce risk
  • Contribute to scalable, consistent recruitment practices across the organization

Hiring Outcomes

  • Ensure candidates are qualified, values-aligned, and set up for long-term success
  • Support strong transitions into onboarding to reduce early turnover

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent training and experience required
  • 4-6 years relevant experience; Canadian and U.S. experience is a strong asset
  • Experience supporting multiple business units and/or jurisdictions (Canada and U.S.) is an asset
  • Human Resources Management education or experience is a strong asset
  • Technical and system expertise; HRIS or ADP knowledge is a strong asset
  • Working knowledge of applicable employment legislation, including Ontario legislation (ESA, OHSA, Human Rights Code) and relevant U.S. federal and state laws (e.g., FLSA, OSHA, ADA, FMLA)
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Self-motivated with strong project and time management skills
  • Goal-oriented, with growth mindset
  • Commitment to confidentiality and tact
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all team members across the organization
  • Strong sense of values alignment, ethics and ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
