Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage logistics effectively. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight over long distances.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo information.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transit.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Operate heavy equipment or forklifts when necessary for loading and unloading tasks.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of freight transportation.
- Familiarity with automotive repair is a plus, enabling quick fixes on the road.
- Experience operating heavy equipment or forklifts is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policies.
