Senior Account Manager, Corporate Communications

We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager who is energized by the role media and storytelling play in shaping reputation, influencing conversations, and driving meaningful outcomes for clients.
This is an opportunity to join a team that is building on strong momentum. You’ll play a key role in advancing integrated communications programs, with a focus on strengthening how we develop stories, engage media, and bring compelling narratives to life.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll play a lead role in developing compelling storytelling strategies – impactful integrated campaigns driven by earned media. You’ll bringing sharp instincts, strong relationships, and a passion for mentorship. You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional campaigns provide strategic counsel in support of building strong client relationships. You would play an important role in support issues and crisis management work as well as supporting senior leadership with business development.

The Role: Your Day-to-Day

We help leaders communicate with confidence, especially when the stakes are high. In this role you will:

Contribute to Account Leadership: Play a central role in managing day-to-day client work, coaching junior team members and supporting senior leaders in shaping strategy and ensuring high-quality delivery.

Advance Media Relations Excellence: Build and maintain strong relationships with key reporters while contributing to media relations strategy across accounts. Support the continued development of our media relations discipline by mentoring junior team members.

Support Strategy Development & Execution: Work closely with senior leaders to develop and deliver integrated communications strategies grounded in insights, trends, and measurable outcomes.

Provide Trusted Client Counsel: Build strong client relationships and contribute to thoughtful, proactive counsel for day-to-day and emerging communications needs .

Lead Content Development: Oversee the creation of compelling, audience-first content – from media materials to thought leadership and digital storytelling.

Measure and Optimize Campaigns:Track and analyze campaign performance, translating data into actionable insights and identifying opportunities to optimize and improve campaigns.

Support with Crisis and Issues Management: Work with leadership to help clients navigate reputational challenges with clarity and confidence.

Mentor and Grow Talent: Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members while creating the opportunity for them to deliver high-quality, high-impact work.

Work cross-functionally: Collaborate with in-house specialists in creative, media, content, digital, AI, and Data to deliver seamless, multi-platform campaigns.
Who You Are
We aren’t looking for a list of checkboxes - we’re looking for a strategic communicator who brings both strong fundamentals and a drive to grow:

Agency Experience: 6+ years in communications or PR, ideally in an agency setting. You’re comfortable navigating complexity and managing multiple stakeholders.

Strong Media Relations Expertise: You bring established media relationships, sound judgement, and a clear understanding of how to land stories that matter. You’re also motivated to support and develop others in this area.

Communications Excellence: You’re a strong writer and storyteller, able to move seamlessly from strategic thinking to polished, client-ready materials.

Insight-Driven Storytelling: You develop strong research briefs, synthesize findings into meaningful insights and translate data into compelling strategies that address client challenges.

Business & Account Acumen: You understand the fundamentals of budgeting, account profitability and contribution measures and have experience working with contractors.

Understanding of the Canadian Business Landscape: You have a solid understanding of the Canadian business, media and public affairs landscape, and how it shapes client priorities.

Collaborative Mindset: You contribute to a positive team environment, lead by example, and thrive in a culture of shared success.

Event Management and Content Creator Experience: An understanding of the creator economy and how to negotiate and oversee paid partnerships as well as supporting with the production of media and influencer events would be an additional asset in this role.
What Type of Qualities and Qualifications Should I Have?

6+ years of corporate communications experience across sectors in either an agency or corporate setting.

A bachelor's degree or certificate in communications, PR, journalism or related field.

Experience working in financial services, and/or enterprise technology sector is an asset.

Strong understanding of social and digital platforms.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.

Are mentorship driven, finding opportunities to lead and support team members to achieve their best work.

Excellent writing and storytelling skills across formats and platforms.
Salary:
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
