We are looking for an energetic Intern to join our Investments Team this summer. This role will support the team in the analysis, research, and evaluation of multi family real estate opportunities.

This role is ideal for a motivated 3rd year student pursuing studies in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field who is eager to gain hands on experience in underwriting, market research, and the transaction process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial analysis to support the evaluation of acquisitions, dispositions, and development opportunities.
  • Support due diligence activities, including organizing data, reviewing documents, and compiling information for senior team members.
  • Prepare and update basic cash flow models under the guidance of the team.
  • Conduct market research, including reviewing macroeconomic trends, rental market data, and competitive supply.
  • Help prepare materials for Investment Committee packages, presentations, and management reporting.
  • Support portfolio management activities such as property performance tracking and identifying potential capital recycling opportunities.
  • Build professional relationships by connecting with peers, brokers, and industry partners as opportunities arise.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records, data sets, and analysis tools used by the Investments team.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Finance, Economics, Business, Real Estate, or a related discipline (completion of 3rd year preferred).
  • Coursework or exposure to real estate, financial analysis, or investments considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with real estate or macroeconomic data sources (e.g., CMHC, Statistics Canada) is an asset.
  • Interest in pursuing CFA, CPA, or similar designations is considered beneficial.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn financial modelling concepts and new analytical tools.
  • Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI) is an asset.
  • Comfortable working with data sets, research tools, and market information sources.

Non Technical Requirements

  • Self motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute to team objectives.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and curiosity about real estate and financial markets.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information.
