About the role

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Contract Administrator - REMOTE. In this role, you will have the responsibility to provide comprehensive contract administration during the construction phase of large-scale transit projects. Your expertise will directly impact project success and efficiency, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure quality compliance and timely progress. As part of a dynamic team, you will leverage your extensive experience to drive innovation and maintain robust communication with clients. Your role will also involve oversight of both field activities and administrative processes, ensuring smooth project execution.

Accountabilities

  • Provide general administration during construction, including approval of alternatives in materials and procedures, and review and approval of shop drawings.
  • Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets/summaries for change directives, change orders, payment certificates, and construction progress.
  • Review and provide comments on contractors' schedules.
  • Perform random field checks of major contract items to verify the accuracy of payment certificate quantities.
  • Review, negotiate, and provide recommendations to the client on contractor claims for extra work.
  • Prepare and process monthly progress estimates.
  • Oversee construction to confirm quality compliance.
  • Review and provide feedback on the contractor's traffic control plan as per OTM Book 7.
  • Arrange, chair, and document construction progress meetings.
  • Review contractor's information requests and provide responses.
  • Administer quality assurance during construction, coordinating with sub-consultants for material testing.
  • Maintain regular communication with the client regarding project status and construction issues.
  • Coordinate and guide site representatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in construction and contract administration for large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • University Degree or three-year College Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated on-site construction administration experience, especially with transit stations and related projects.
  • Proven experience supervising Site Representatives and coordinating field activities.
  • Experience in analyzing schedules and monitoring impact of changes.
  • Experience working within a rail right-of-way is an asset.
  • Certification as a Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
