About this opportunity
The Team Lead, Quality Assurance and Testing organizes and manages the coordination and execution of the testing engagements of the team. Providing leadership to this important part of the solutions process, the Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the testing phase of the solutions process, including build and integration, meet the requirements and needs of the business and ensures that corporate standards on information, privacy and security are realized.
This is a hybrid position with at least one day per week on-site at our Etobicoke office.
Salary range: $63,600–$90,100 per year

- Mentor team members to increase their skills, knowledge and experience
- Conduct regular team meetings and reviews
- Identify new tools that can be incorporated in to the QA process to drive efficiency and consistency
- Implement new testing procedures to maximize operational efficiency
- Evaluate team members to identify areas for improvement
- Define overall testing strategies to ensure the product being released is up to industry and company standards
- Serve as the team’s escalation point for project risks and concerns
- Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data validation
- Write business scenarios with complicated workflow, created test cases and datasheet
- Create test scenarios and test cases from business and functional requirements
- Establish and participate in functional testing
- Participate in regression testing
- Communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to the development team
- Identify and document areas for improvement to enhance the product's efficiency
- Assist in testing walk through meeting with the Developer, Business Analysts and Project Leads
- Work closely with developers to understand technical requirements and design
- Provide input throughout the development lifecycle to prevent defects
- Identify and escalate critical issues and risks to project leadership or the Director as required
- Identify and define integration testing scenarios
- Participate in integration testing
- Validate reports and dashboards
- Report defects using established reporting project management tools
- Perform data analysis
- Manage data migration testing by building out test workflows while following QA best practices
- Identify and create new automation process in ETL environment as required
- Implement SQL based automated scripts
What you need to be successful
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Functional Quality Analyst role
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel to manipulate data
- A demonstrated history of completing testing activities on data migration
- Ability to create and execute complex SQL scripts for data validation purposes
- Working expertise in test planning, test scripts, test execution and test result analysis in Agile and Waterfall environments
- Ability to work within the entire Quality Assurance lifecycle through application of SDLC, STLC and Agile
- Experience working with automation and other automation tools
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A results-oriented approach with problem-solving skills
- Quality Assurance experience
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent listening and observational skills
- Customer service
- The ability to work fluently in both English and French is an asset
