About the role

Help keep communities safe by ensuring fire safety decisions are reviewed accurately and efficiently.

Bring your organization and case management skills to the Office of the Fire Marshal, where you'll play a key role in managing requests for Inspection Order Reviews. In this fast-paced, detail-focused position, you'll work with a range of stakeholders, keep critical information organized, and support important review and appeal processes.

About the job As an Inspection Order Review Coordinator, you will:

  • manage and track review requests in the case management system, keeping files organized and up to date
  • set up and maintain review files, including controlling access and monitoring progress
  • answer questions from stakeholders and share important updates with staff and management
  • coordinate with the Fire Safety Commission on appeals and gather the required background information
  • support the team by preparing reports and correspondence, helping set priorities, and providing backup administrative support

  • coordinate and track multiple requests or cases, keeping information organized and up to date
  • set up, organize, and maintain accurate case files throughout their lifecycle
  • follow records management practices to store and archive information properly
  • support daily office activities and help keep processes running smoothly

  • work with structured processes, policies, or guidelines and apply them in your day-to-day work
  • interpret and follow rules or requirements in environments where accuracy and compliance are important
  • support processes that involve reviews, decisions, or resolving requests or issues
  • build familiarity with new subject matter (such as legislation or industry standards) and apply it to your work
  • understand how different roles or organizations work together within a broader process

Organization, problem-solving and digital skills You can:

  • prioritize tasks and stay organized while handling a high volume of work
  • solve problems and respond to inquiries by gathering and reviewing information
  • maintain accurate records and ensure details are complete and reliable
  • use common computer programs (e.g., databases, spreadsheets, or document tools) to track information and create correspondence

Communication and relationship building You can:

  • communicate clearly and professionally with a variety of people, including the public and internal teams
  • write emails, reports, and other documents that are clear and easy to understand
  • work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners
  • handle sensitive information with care and respond to questions in a fair and respectful way
