Product Director - Job Description

Your Purpose:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Product Director will provide oversight and direction for Stocksy’s product roadmap by evaluating business need, value, and priority, and managing product work throughout its lifecycle. For any new or existing product type, this position will work to embed our approach of using qualitative and quantitative data drawn from external sources and internal experimentation to offer recommendations for product implementation, innovation, or dissolution.

  • Location: Remote (preference to those able to work within the EST timezone)

  • Hours: This is a full time position with the standard hours of 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day. Typical office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (upon agreement with Team Lead). Overtime may be required as part of annual compensation. All conditions of employment will be in accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act.

You have:

  • 6+ years experience in product management & research (ideally from a creative e-commerce environment)

  • A deep understanding of software development cycles and processes, with experience working with and guiding technology teams to execute product innovation

  • Experience leading and working with international and remote teams in a cross-functional, lean management environment

  • Excellent project management skills, with an ability to rally relevant stakeholders, prioritize workflow, and hold accountability for timelines

  • Experience working in a variety of markets, both domestic and international, with excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Proven track record of developing, implementing, executing, and evaluating product strategy with a user-centric approach

  • Experience driving market research, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to produce recommendations for innovation

  • Experience working alongside marketing teams to coordinate and execute effective product launches/go-to-market strategies

  • Expertise with project management, including Gitlab and other similar PM tools

  • Experience working within various technological environments, including AWS

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Stocksy’s product roadmap, developing and iterating on our product vision and strategy, outlining compelling business cases for the innovation of new and existing products

  • Drive the development, implementation, execution, and evaluation of product lifecycles processes

  • Establish clear KPIs for the relevant product that align with Stocksy’s roadmap, and work with relevant leads to track, assess, and pivot

  • Conduct external product research, liaising with relevant stakeholders to deliver market research, competitor analysis, customer segmentation and evaluate other feedback channels

  • Generate and incorporate a comprehensive, cross-functional understanding of business, collection, contributor, and client needs

  • Utilize an expert knowledge of business requirements attained through internal and external data collection and analysis, providing comprehensive and clear action plans

  • Translate product strategy into detailed Product Requirement Documents, guiding our Technology team with an action plan to develop new or existing product offerings

  • Liaise with our marketing and sales teams to develop comprehensive go-to-market plans, including on-brand product positioning and messaging unique for each desired audience/client segment
