Camp Counsellor (Seasonal, Full-time)

We are seeking a dedicated, member service-oriented professionals to join our Camps team as Full-time Camp Counsellor from JUNE TO AUGUST 2026 (Weather dependent).
**POSITION SUMMARY:**Under the supervision and direction of the Children’s Program Manager, the camp counselor will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day programming for their assigned group of children for the Summer Sports Camp Program or Junior Lounge duties and responsibilities.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver Quality Programming for children aged 4-13
- Provide guidance for a group of children (12-15 children per group)
- Provide a welcoming and friendly environment and experience to parents (and/or care takers) and children during pick up and drop off
- Must be available to attend the on-the-job (paid) training in Mid-late June
- Follow the daily schedule as given and assure their group is at each activity on time
- Ensure campers are having a great experience by making sure that they relate to the activities and assist them when needed
- Responsible for the direct safety of each child in your group
- Communicating any positive and negative concerns to both the Camp Director and Parents
- Assist in sports banquets, summer events such as Canada Day, etc.
- Assist the sports pro’s with each sports training/activity and must swim with the children during pool activity
- Promote camper participation in all activities by leading by example
- Attend team meetings as schedule by the Camp Director
- Documentation of any accidents/incidents in a neat and legible manner the same days they occur.
- Assist with movie nights and other Junior Lounge activities/ hours as needed (evenings/weekends)
- Assist in all additional duties as assigned by the Camp Director
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Previous camp experience is a must (2 + years)
- Must have a valid training/certification in High Five, First Aid & CPR (Child and Infant)
- Must provide or be willing to apply for a Police Criminal Background Check for Vulnerable Sector
- Sports background is an asset (golf, tennis, swimming)
- Must be able to swim in deep water
- Comfortable speaking in front of a group
- Energetic and Enthusiastic. Must have a loud voice and have the ability to get a group of children energized and excited
- Must be able to think on the spot (rainy day plans and time filling games)
