About the role

What you’ll do
The Financial Analyst will play a key role within a dynamic accounting team focused on an efficient and effective Accounting function which uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, increases service level performance and minimizes risk. The incumbent will analyze the output of how others have recorded data and investigates anomalies and discrepancies in order to ensure accurate corporate reporting and adherence to accounting standards.   • Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to Management on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Prepare and review significant analyses, entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process.

  • Analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends. Presents findings to managers and senior management.

  • Analyze and implement the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls.

  • Identify and execute complex process improvements, including demonstrated experience developing or auditing complex accounting models or valuations.

  • Execute and maintain documentation of controls.

What you bring

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance areas, CPA designation (or working towards) preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a medium/large company at a Financial Analyst/Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge.
  • Solid financial and technical skills coupled with strong analytical ability with a natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment
