Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Nursing, the Clinical Resource
Nurse (CRN) is responsible for promoting the Vision, Mission, and Values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority through the provision of safe quality nursing care to clients. The Clinical Resource Nurse educates, mentors, and supports unit staff, promotes patient safety, occupational health and safety and quality improvement on the unit.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- 5 years acute care nursing experience
- Requires highly developed clinical assessment skills and critical thinking
Education
- Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education & Training
- Other specialty certificates related to the clinical program area as required
- Nursing diploma is acceptable

- Demonstrates leadership skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Change management skills
Knowledge & Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other care providers
- In-depth knowledge to assess and manage acute and chronically ill patients
- Ability to do research and apply knowledge related to current best practice
- Knowledge in principles of adult education
- Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal/consultative relationships
- Ability to maintain composure during periods of high stress
- Ability to facilitate teamwork is essential
- Ability to lead/encourage/advise/collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability in program development, implementation and evaluation
- Knowledge in leadership strategies
- Expertise in medical nursing, technical skills, and psychosocial aspects of care
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrates ability to show initiative and self-direction
- Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
- Ability to foster the skills of other staff members
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
