What the job involves

• At Wealthsimple, we offer 4 to 8-month internships that are open to co-op and non-co-op students, and recent grads
• During your internship, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that are changing the landscape of financial services for Canadians
• You will be on a team that supports your growth, provides mentorship, and connects you to the broader Wealthsimple community!
• The Data Science & Engineering (DSE) team consists of data scientists and software engineers with diverse educational backgrounds such as math, operations research, economics, computer science, engineering and business
• The team is responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making and building data products at Wealthsimple
• Building a high-quality and scalable state-of-the-art data warehouse that powers all decision making
• Leveraging machine learning and algorithms to help Wealthsimple build smarter financial products
• Using decision science to understand the cause and effect of our business decisions
• Make a real impact. You'll work on projects that help over 3 million Canadians achieve financial freedom, turning complex data into simple, powerful insights
• Work with modern technologies. Get hands-on with our data stack (Python, SQL, scikit-learn) to help develop and deploy models that make our financial products smarter and more intuitive
• Take true ownership. Go beyond the numbers to understand the "why" behind them, using decision science to measure the impact of our choices and shape future strategy
• Collaborate with a diverse team. Work alongside data scientists, engineers, and product managers from a variety of backgrounds who believe in transparency and open debate to get to the best outcome
• Accelerate your growth. You'll be part of a team that is invested in your learning and development, offering you the support and autonomy to tackle meaningful challenge

• First Interview: 1-hour technical interview (in your language of choice) with one interviewer
• Second Interview: 30 minute interview with a hiring manager where you will be walking through a project review
