JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Maintenance & Facilities is responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical, mechanical, vehicle, and facilities maintenance operations at Grouse Mountain Resort. This role provides strategic leadership, operational guidance, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure that infrastructure, equipment, and facilities are safe, reliable, and operating at peak efficiency. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Senior Manager works closely with departmental managers and resort leadership to align maintenance strategies with guest experience, safety standards, and long-term asset management goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and direction to the managers of Electrical, Mechanical, Vehicle and Facilities Maintenance departments
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset life and minimize downtime
- Oversee budget planning, capital expenditures, and resource allocation for all maintenance divisions
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
- Collaborate with the Assistant General Manager and other senior leaders on strategic projects, capital planning, and infrastructure upgrades
- Establish and monitor performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems for each department
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across maintenance teams
- Support recruitment, training, and professional development of maintenance staff
- Coordinate cross-departmental responses to emergencies, weather impacts, and peak operational periods
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position provides direct supervision to the maintenance team. Direct reports include Manager, Electrical Maintenance; Manager, Mechanical Maintenance; Manager, Vehicle Maintenance; Supervisor, and Facilities Maintenance, Maintenance Planner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance, facilities, or technical operations
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vehicle, and facility systems, with the ability to guide specialized managers
- Proven ability to manage large budgets and oversee capital projects
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused resort environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is a full-time, year-round leadership role. On-site presence required; may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as resort operations demand. Indoor and outdoor work environments, including exposure to mountain weather conditions.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$105,000 - $125,000 per annum
