The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.
Job Information
The Department of Education, Culture and Employment is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Coordinator, Labour Market Programs to join our team in Yellowknife. Reporting to the Manager, Labour Market Programs, this position plays a key role in the development, promotion, and delivery of labour market and immigration-related programs and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and guide Regional ECE Service Centres and third-party providers in the delivery of employment, career, and workforce development programs.
Collaborate with federal, territorial, and regional partners including government agencies, industry representatives, and immigration service providers.
Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements to ensure optimal use of federal funding.
Conduct research, participate in inter-jurisdictional working groups, and contribute to the development of reports, strategies, policies, and tools.
Manage competing deadlines, shifting priorities, and sensitive cross-cultural issues in a fast-paced environment.
Contribute to the administration of a $5.4 million territorial budget and $7.2 million in labour market agreements and third-party funds.
Additional Requirements:
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience in policy development, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Willingness to travel to communities across the NWT and occasionally outside the territory (approximately one week every three to four months).

To be successful in this role, typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Diploma in Education, Business, Human Resources or relevant Social Sciences, and two (2) years of relevant experience.
