Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Site Manager, Fanning Centre, the Transportation Dispatcher is a supervisory position responsible for supporting the efficient operation of Transportation Services. This role requires a reliable, organized, and professional individual who will play a critical role in coordinating daily transportation activities, ensuring effective scheduling, maintaining clear communication with drivers, and supporting the timely delivery of services to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule daily transportation requests
  • Dispatch drivers and monitor routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, site staff, and leadership
  • Respond to scheduling changes, delays, and urgent transportation needs
  • Track vehicle locations and adjust assignments as required
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, incidents, and service logs
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance
  • Support compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Support driver training and on-going education and testing within the department
  • Assist with reporting, data entry, and documentation as required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduation from Grade 12 or equivalent is required (post-secondary education in logistics, administration, or a related

field is an asset).

  • Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, or coordination experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of local geography is an asset
  • This position requires high attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are required; Experience in a health care environment is an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Office based position with frequent phone and computer use
  • Occasional high-pressure situation requiring quick decision making
