Métis Family Resource Supervisor
Location: #200 12308 111 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta
Closing Date: September 12, 2025 or until suitable candidate found
Position Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), Permanent
Reporting to the Métis Family Resource Program Manager, the Métis Family Resource Supervisor oversees day-to-day activities associated with providing culturally sensitive supports to Métis children and families involved with the child intervention system. The Métis Family Resource Supervisor provides direct supervision to staff within the Métis Family Resource Program and acts as bridge to the program manager and senior leadership of the Children and Family Services department, ensuring the completion of projects on time and in alignment with departmental goals. The Métis Family Resource Supervisor must have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated leadership qualities, and a passion for helping Métis children and families. This position will have up to 6 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Métis Family Resource Program (MFRP) team in the development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting on programming, events, and supports.
- Support the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures to enhance the delivery of services within the MFRP.
- Provide direct case management for complex files.
- Create, review, and maintain program processes and procedures that guide MFRP programming to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review program plans and collateral to ensure effective and high-quality program delivery, including timelines, project milestones, registration and implementation processes, and evaluation plans.
- Ensure that all MFRP program activities reflect the values and priorities of the MFRP team.
- Identify and address gaps and areas of growth for the MFRP team and programs.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and partners and foster and maintain positive and collaborative relationships.
- Support the preparation and delivery of presentations and training to stakeholders, community, and provincial and national audiences, as required.
- Collaborate on staffing responsibilities and perform supervisory duties including hiring and training staff, assigning job duties, and developing and overseeing staff work plans.
- Mentor team members and provide effective leadership through feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations.
- Develop relationships with the Métis community with the intent of supporting children and families and informing future MFRP programming.
- Participate in and support the overall strategic direction of the Children and Family Services department and Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.

An in-depth understanding of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government and Métis culture, people, and values.

Working knowledge of Act C-92, the Child and Youth Enhancement Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and Protection of Personal Information Act.

Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
Other Requirements
- Position is based in Edmonton; in-office presence is required.
- Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Must be willing to travel within Alberta and work irregular hours, on occasion, to meet program needs.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Acceptable attainment and annual maintenance of a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check and an Intervention Record Check is required.
