JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented individual for the position of Administration Assistant within our Edmonton, AB branch. This is a full-time, onsite permanent position that reports directly to the Administration Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform timely and accurate processing of all payables; mill, freight, processor and expenses.
- Reconcile statements.
- Perform timely and accurate daily filing of sales order, and payables.
- Entry of inventory adjustments as required
- Mill test report entry and retrieval.
- System receiving of material as required
- Continually upgrade skills within administration to ensure department’s goals and measurables are being met.
- Provide back-up and support to co-workers when required.
- Completion of administration related projects and tasks assigned by the Administration Manager and Regional Controller as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and flexibility in a fast-changing work environment
- A team-first mindset and strong customer service orientation
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and time management skills
- Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Effective communication skills (written and oral)
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH:
- Grade 12 diploma plus a post-secondary vocational course in business or office admin
- 1-2 years administration experience preferred, supervisory experience an asset but not required

These operations distribute flanges, valves, fittings and tubular goods. We purchase products from North American steel mills, independent manufacturers of flanges, valves, fittings, pipe and tubular goods and other accessories, international steel mills or other distributors.
Steel Distributors Our steel distributors act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis. The main steel products sourced by this segment are carbon steel plate, flat rolled products, beams, channel and pipe.
