What You’ll Be Doing As a Marketing & Segments Co-op Student, you will have the opportunity to support the Business Banking Marketing and Communication through a variety of marketing and communications activities. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to marketing channels, segment strategy, partnership evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will work closely and collaboratively with Senior Managers with key functional domains that build and execute on marketing and segment focused strategies.
This role offers hands-on experience in marketing and communications within a leading Canadian financial institution, providing exposure to business banking strategies, campaign management, and stakeholder engagement. You will have opportunities to develop key professional skills such as teamwork, communication, and project management, while benefiting from mentorship and guidance from senior leaders in the Marketing and Communications team.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You will have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Important information
- You are enrolled in a degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field at the time of the work term, with a graduation date no earlier than June 2026.

How You’ll Succeed
- Marketing Support: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns. Help manage timelines and communicate updates to team members and stakeholders.
- Segment Strategy: Support segment owners with research, partnership development, and the implementation of marketing plans for specific client segments.
- Content Development: Help create internal and external communications, including thought leadership pieces, presentations, and other materials.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with internal teams and external partners, supporting effective collaboration and communication.
- Innovation: Share your fresh ideas and perspectives to help us continuously improve and innovate within our team.
