Role Summary:

The Communication and Community Manager will build and maintain our online brand presence by creating content, scheduling posts, engaging with the community, running ads, and analyzing performance to meet organizational goals such as increasing brand awareness, obtaining funding, meeting funded deliverables and attracting beneficiaries

. They act as the organization’s voice, shaping public perception through strategic campaigns and consistent interaction across platforms. They are responsible for creating awareness and keeping us top of mind as the main Canadian digital literacy provider for young adults.

Who We Are:

Founded in 2013, Digital Moment is a national charity and part of a global network of organizations working to mobilize communities to build a better future through digital literacy education. For over a decade, Digital Moment has been advancing digital literacy by focusing on creating impactful programs and experiences for educators, youth, and their communities on digital skills such as coding, cybersecurity, algorithms and data literacy, and artificial intelligence. Digital Moment is focused on equity and accessibility, particularly for underrepresented groups and encompasses four educational initiatives: Experience AI , Digital2030 , Code Club , and the Social Innovation Lab .

We are continuously innovating and creating new initiatives to serve our mission and engaging youth in ways that empower them to become engaged citizens in a digital era.  We take our commitments seriously and want to ensure we deliver on our commitments to all stakeholders, including funders, partners, and most importantly, youth and educators. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning:

    Develop annual, quarterly and monthly multi-platform content strategies that promote Digital Moment’s brand and initiatives to target audiences. Develop overarching social media strategies, plan content calendars, and set measurable goals (e.g., follower growth, engagement).

  • Content Creation:

    Write engaging multi-platform content (website, social media, newsletters, press releases, annual reports, speeches, memoirs, briefs, etc.) in French and English, in accordance with best practices and in line with Digital Moment’s brand positioning. Write posts, manage agency work for visual and video creation, and curate relevant content that aligns with the brand's voice. Ensure consistent writing, editing and proofreading of all written and translated content.

  • Community Management:

    Respond to comments/messages, foster interaction, and manage the online community's sentiment. Identify influencers and ambassadors and propose the best synergy and collaboration strategies to approach and execute.

  • Campaign Management:

    Launch and oversee specific campaigns, including running paid ads (TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube) to reach target audiences.

  • Analytics & Reporting :

    Track key metrics (reach, engagement, growth), analyze what works, and report on performance to stakeholders. Collaborate with the Program and Project teams to iterate on strategies and adapt plans as needed.

  • Trend Monitoring:

    Stay updated on new platforms, features, and emerging trends to keep content fresh and relevant for our main demographics (youth: 13-18 years old and young adults 18-25 years old).

  • Collaboration :

    Work with team members internally to ensure consistent messaging and integrated efforts. Support the Program and Fund Development teams with their needs. Manage our external agencies to ensure quality and voice are aligned.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • University degree in communication, marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of leading and managing communication and social media strategies
  • Advanced social media skills, including TikTok
  • Strong experience in building communication materials that will appeal to different stakeholder groups (funders, government representatives, educators and beneficiaries: youth and young adults between 18-25 years old)
  • Understanding of young adult social media habits and patterns
  • Experience reporting with GA4, Meta Business Suite/Ads Manager, basic analytics and KPIs
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English
  • Interest for our mission
