MEI Schools is a growing, independent, Preschool - Grade 12 school of over 1600 students. Founded in 1944, MEI Schools employs Christian teachers who teach the BC curriculum from a Biblical perspective.

MEI Schools is a Group 1 Independent School, as determined by the BC Ministry of Education, with an open registration philosophy.

Students of MEI Schools are in the top 10% for provincial academic achievement. More than 2/3 of graduates move on to post- secondary institutions, where they are recognized for their scholastic, academic, and community leadership. MEI excels in the Performing and Fine Arts, garnering international recognition. MEI’s athletic teams consistently rank with the best in the province, earning several BC championship titles.

MEI Schools is a Group 1 accredited independent school that receives partial funding from the provincial govern- ment. We receive 50% of the per pupil grant issued to the Abbotsford School District. The other major source of funds is the tuition paid by families whose children attend MEI.

As is true in most schools, the largest percentage of expenses for operating an educational program goes to salaries and benefits. Eighty percent of our annual budget goes toward the salaries of the 200 full-time and part-time staff members, who work at our four MEI schools. The remainder of the money is divided between programs, maintenance, and the upgrades we make to our facilities on a regular basis.
