Are you an enthusiastic and devoted Early Childhood Cook seeking an exciting chance to positively influence the lives of young children?

Precious Cargo Montessori based in St Peters is on the lookout for a vibrant and highly motivated Early Childhood Cook to become part of our exceptional kitchen team on a part-time basis.

Role If you have a profound passion for preparing fresh and exciting meals and snacks, and want to help put smiles on the children in our care, then here's the role for you:

The Opportunity

  • Assists the chef/cook with food
  • Fill in for chef in their absence
  • Assists in preparing the trolleys for the classrooms
  • Washes dishes/loads dishwasher, puts dishes away
  • Maintains the kitchen in a clean and tidy manner
  • Carries out cleaning duties as per the kitchen checklists
  • Assists with cooking lessons for the children
  • Is aware of all children’s dietary needs
  • Assists in maintaining stock levels
  • Takes reasonable care to protect her/his own safety in the workplace and avoid adversely affecting the health, safety and welfare of any other person through any action or omission, or through neglect or misconduct at work

You

  • Proven experience within a kitchen - either within a Childcare Centre or other hospitality venue.
  • Works well in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility & adaptability.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Follows instructions and demonstrates initiative whilst in the kitchen.
  • Reliable, punctual and has a broader understanding of the contribution this position makes to the smooth operation of our Centre.
  • Takes great pride in the quality of their work.
