Overview The Aamjiwnaang–Vertex Joint Venture is seeking a Field Supervisor in Sarnia who is ready to take the next step as a leader. This role is a unique opportunity to help build, lead, and grow a local field services team while delivering high-quality emissions monitoring services for industry and the Aamjiwnaang community.
As Field Supervisor, you will play a key role in shaping how field services are delivered in the Sarnia area. You will have the opportunity to build your own team, mentor and develop local talent, and help expand both industrial LDAR services and community-based emissions monitoring programs. This position is ideal for someone who wants more than just a supervisory title and is motivated to grow into a long-term leadership role within the organization.
The role combines hands-on field leadership with quality oversight, relationship building, and business development. You will work closely with industrial clients, community partners, and Vertex leadership to ensure work is done safely, accurately, and with respect for community values. Your work will directly contribute to local capacity building, environmental protection, and meaningful benefits for the Aamjiwnaang community.
Priority consideration will be given to qualified members of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
KEY DETAILS

Aamjiwnaang–Vertex Joint Venture
Location: Sarnia, Ontario
Priority Hiring: Members of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation
Key Responsibilities Field Operations (50%)
- Lead and supervise EPA Method 21 LDAR field programs for industrial clients in the Sarnia area.
- Oversee community emissions monitoring and measurement initiatives in partnership with Aamjiwnaang leadership and members.
- Provide hands-on supervision, coaching, and mentorship to field technicians and community staff.
- Ensure all field work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and Vertex standards.
- Conduct routine QA/QC checks on field measurements, calibration records, and documentation.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and field-ready.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements in alignment with company and site-specific policies.
Office-Based Oversight & QA/QC (20%)
- Review and QA/QC field data, reports, and deliverables prior to submission to clients or community partners.
- Approve timesheets, expenses, and field documentation.
- Track project costs and support budget management for assigned projects.
- Assist with invoicing and ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures for LDAR and community monitoring programs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to field efficiency, data quality, and safety.
Business Development (30%)
- Support business development activities for industrial field services in the Sarnia area.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local industrial clients, site contacts, and partners.
- Represent the Aamjiwnaang–Vertex Joint Venture at client meetings, site visits, and local industry events.
- Support the growth of community-based emissions monitoring programs that deliver tangible benefits to the Aamjiwnaang community.
- Identify opportunities to expand services, train community members, and create long-term local employment.
Candidate Qualifications
- 5+ years of field experience in LDAR or related environmental field services.
- Strong technical knowledge of LDAR practices, equipment, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in managing field teams and ensuring project deliverables are met.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in QA/QC processes for environmental data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for staff leadership and client interaction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote field locations.
