We are currently seeking skilled and motivated CNC Machine Operators to join our team and support our growing operations.
Position:
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective set up and operation of CNC and/or conventional milling and lathe machines and performing simple to complex operations and tasks.
Role And Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate machine per setup sheet and NC program, and MOS.
- Set-up and verify tools on machine using tool list, take measurements to ensure conforming part.
- Handle material and parts as required; load/unload stock from machine.
- Perform first-off inspection and Operator in Process inspections and record results on MOS
- Ensure gauges and measuring equipment is in good working condition and is within calibration date.
- Comply with all health and safety rules and regulations.
- Use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing provided by CFN.
- Report any known missing or defective equipment or protective devices
- Report any known workplace hazards and report known violations of the Act or regulations.
- Conduct daily inspection and maintenance of machine, ensure fixtures and tools are visually inspected for damage and returned to store after use.
- Ensure documents (Traveler, MOS, etc.) are completed in accordance with AS9100 requirements. Report any product or documentation deviation.
- Work with NC programmers to resolve machining issues and suggest improvements on existing NC programs.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
Requirements:
Minimum of a high-school diploma, a diploma in a CNC machining related field is preferred.
5 to 10-year experiences in a precision machining environment – preferably aerospace.
Ability to set up and operate CNC and/or conventional milling machines and lathes. Ability to solve machining problems.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Ability to process travelers and set-up sheets.
Ability to write and edit small simple programs.
Ability to use measuring equipment.
Ability to perform first article and first off inspections.
Ability to accurately perform time and unit reporting.
Familiarity with safety and compliance standards (e.g., OHSA).
Able to work independently and as part of a team.

As a registered Controlled Goods Program (CGP) company, CFN Precision Ltd. complies with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program regulations. Final selected candidates must be eligible for and successfully pass a security assessment in accordance with the Controlled Goods Program requirements and may be subject to additional background checks.
