Senior Tax Professional

We are proud to be partnering with Thomson Jaspar LLP, a well-established CPA firm based in Saskatoon. Known for their trusted client relationships and strong team environment, they’re seeking a Senior Tax Professional to support their expanding client base and continue delivering exceptional tax expertise and service.

If you’re a detail-oriented tax expert who thrives in a collaborative setting, this is your chance to join a respected firm and make a lasting impact. In this role, you’ll take the lead on complex tax planning and compliance, mentor junior staff, and work directly with clients to provide strategic advice and trusted solutions.

As the Senior Tax Professional, you will:

  • Plan and assess potential tax planning strategies for small business clients.
  • Draft memos and letters outlining the tax consequences associated with proposed transactions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior tax team members, currently in the In-Depth Tax program, to ensure tasks are carried out thoroughly and accurately.
  • Review reorganization and estate work performed by junior tax team members.
  • Conduct tax research.
  • Review corporate, personal, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Special tax work such as rollovers, estate freezes, SRED claims, etc.
  • Providing tax provision support to small businesses.
  • Communication with the Canada Revenue Agency and clients.
  • Completion of additional duties or assignments as required.

You and Your Experience:

  • Canadian CPA designation required.
  • Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax Program required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of small business accounting and tax experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Canadian income tax for corporations, individuals, and trusts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • A proactive and client-focused mindset, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a team environment and mentoring staff.
