This opportunity is supported through The Work Study Employment Program, which is designed to provide work opportunities to Fanshawe College full-time post-secondary or post diploma students with a demonstrated financial need.

Seasonal Contract - Temporary Part-Time (May 2026 - August 2026)
Up to 35 hours of work per week
Entertainment Team
The Entertainment Crew supports the setup, operation, and teardown of FSU entertainment events, including concerts, pub nights, and smaller student activities on campus. This role is ideal for students interested in live event production and entertainment operations. Working under the direction of the Student Events Coordinator, crew members assist with staging, lighting, sound, and overall event logistics. The position requires strong teamwork, communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Crew members also act as positive representatives of the FSU when engaging with students and event guests.
This is a part-time Work Study position designed for full-time Fanshawe College students.
Job Duties
- Set up and tear down event equipment for concerts, pub nights, and other FSU events.
- Assist with stage changeovers and backstage operations during live performances.
- Support the technical team with sound, lighting, and video equipment as needed.
- Promote FSU events and services while interacting with students.
- Maintain safe work practices and follow all event setup protocols.
- Ensure all equipment is stored properly and that event spaces are left clean and organized.
- Attend and participate in mandatory training sessions and team meetings.
- Lift, carry, and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including steel-toed footwear and gloves (as recommended).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Entertainment Production Coordinator or Entertainment Production Assistant.
Requirements
- Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to attend all mandatory training sessions.
- Basic understanding of sound, lighting, and computer systems is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in live events, theatre, audio/video production, or related fields is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team, take direction, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
- Must own and wear steel-toed shoes or boots during shifts.
- Recommended: work gloves and willingness to wear other safety gear as provided.
