Hiring for CASUAL Before and After School Care Assistant

The Chilliwack School District is looking for enthusiastic, qualified before and after School Care Assistant who would be required to be available Monday - Friday to replace employees who are absent for less than six months earning a wage of $28.15 per hour.

If you have a Highschool Diploma and you are a Responsible Adult/RA*, we encourage you to apply.

  • Please note that a "Responsible Adult/RA", in the childcare licensing regulation (the law) says: To qualify for employment in a community care facility as a responsible adult, a person must (a) be at least 19 years of age, (b) be able to provide care and mature guidance to children, (c) have completed a course, or a combination of courses, of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition, and (d) have relevant work experience .

  • a cover letter
  • a detailed resume outlining relevant post-secondary qualifications and work experience
  • the names and contact information of at least two individuals who have supervised your work with children, youth or adult
  • copies of relevant post-secondary degree and certificates
  • copies of written evaluations of your work with children youth or adults

Please Note: This position occurs before and after school. If the successful applicant is already a permanent employee with SD33 they will not work more than eight (8) hours per day/40 hours per week, in a combined number of positions unless overtime is pre-authorized by the employee's immediate Supervisor.
