As a Human Resources (HR) Consultant, Workplace Wellbeing, you will contribute to creating the foundation for a healthy workplace so our employees can bring their best selves to work. The Total Rewards and Healthy Workplace Division of Human Resources is committed to the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees. You will be part of a high performing team that collaborates with partners to enhance workplace wellbeing through proactive, preventative and responsive approaches that empower leaders and employees to build, practice and sustain a healthy, safe and supportive workplace. You will advance Workplace Wellbeing's strategic priorities through delivering corporate wellbeing initiatives and provide specialized consulting to develop and action tailored client focused wellbeing plans. Primary duties include:
- Support the implementation of The City's Psychological Safety Strategy and Framework including progressing City approaches that align with the Canadian National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, review business unit readiness and support the Psychological Health and Safety gap analysis (Canadian Standards Association Z1003) to ensure continuous improvement.
- Advance the 14 factors of psychological health and safety, psychological hazards identification approaches and risk mitigation processes and alignment with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation. Provide facilitation and consulting in these areas.
- Provide expert consulting, engagement and guidance to assigned client groups; respond to critical/urgent issues, provide team facilitation, provide healthy workplace metrics/trends and develop client wellness plans that support improved health outcomes for teams.
- Conduct Psychological Safety Pulse Check processes and facilitate action planning that support the unique psychological safety and healthy workplace needs of client groups.
- Facilitate psychological safety and wellbeing learning sessions with intact teams or open offerings.
- Collaborate with the Workplace Wellbeing leader, team and partners to advance a strategic approach to wellbeing.
Qualifications
- A degree in Public Health, Workplace Wellness, Health/Social Sciences, Health and Safety, Human Resources or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant workplace wellbeing experience in a HR or Wellbeing consulting role is required.
- A degree and a postgraduate certificate or a master's degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset.
- Advanced level knowledge and experience in psychological health and safety and wellness will be important for success in this role.
- A strong background in wellness consulting, team facilitation, delivering learning sessions, and experience in delivering strategic wellness programs to support organizational goals.
- Applicable healthy workplace or HR certifications or designations such as psychological safety, Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), workplace mental health or related will be considered an asset.
- Experience working in a large, multi-level, unionized organization will be an asset.
- Well-developed competencies in consulting, collaboration, strategic thinking, political acumen, influencing, facilitation, communication and balancing competing priorities.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $48.54 - 64.88 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Location: 800 Macleod Trail SE
