About the role

Description

We are currently seeking a dependable and professional Shunt Driver (Class 1) to join our team for day shift terminal operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a structured work environment, excel in coordinating trailer movements, and are committed to safety and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do:

Safely perform shunting duties within the terminal, including trailer spotting, trailer swaps, and yard coordination. Move equipment between loading docks, yard lanes, and designated staging areas. Ensure accurate trailer placement to support smooth freight flow and on‑time dispatch. Conductpre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on tractors and report any defects promptly. Maintain communication with dispatch, dock staff, and operations teams to support daily scheduling needs. Keep assigned equipment clean and in good working order.

What You'll Need to Drive with Team Armour:

A valid Class 1 license with no restrictions, and a clean driver’s abstract. Proven ability to operatemanual transmission trucks, with recent experience preferred. Minimum of2 years driving a tractor‑trailer Strong understanding of yard safety, trailer handling, and backing skills. Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced terminal environment. Experience with freight terminals, dock operations, or yard management systems is an asset.
