We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who will actively contribute to laboratory activities, as part of a team of eight colleagues working in a flexible and friendly environment. While the position offers exposure to chemical analyses, the individual will primarily work in microbiology, alternating between routine quality control (QC) activities, participation in method validation projects, and supporting plant analytical needs.
This position offers a concrete opportunity to contribute to a variety of activities in a research and development context, while developing skills in quality and validation.
The main responsibilities of the technician will be:
Quality Control (QC) and routine analyses
Microbiological analyses of various yeast samples (contaminants, viability) Evaluation of yeast activity (e.g., sugar consumption) Support QC analyses and data recording according to internal procedures
Validation and projects
Participation in method validation activities (e.g., microbiological methods, alternative methods) in collaboration with the team Contribution to analytical projects and support of plant needs Application of biosafety and laboratory safety procedures in a controlled environment (e.g., biosafety level 2 laboratory – BSL-2)
Laboratory activities (microbiology and chemistry)
Preparation of culture media, reagents, and laboratory equipment Biochemical analyses using instruments such as HPLC / GC and Kjeldahl (proteins, phosphates, trehalose and other analytes present in yeast products) Assistance in training new students
Quality and continuous improvement
Documentation of results in accordance with traceability requirements and laboratory standards Contribution to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices and procedures Exposure to quality assurance processes, including document review, deviation tracking, and preparation for internal or external audits
Please note that the selected candidate will work in a primarily French-speaking environment but may be required to communicate results with various English-speaking research teams. Therefore, a functional level of English is required. Please submit your CV and/or cover letter in French.
