Position Summary The Human Resources Representative plays a crucial role in supporting onboarding, employee relations, and day-to-day HR operations. You will be the first point-of-contact to employees regarding HR related inquiries while ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a positive work environment and maintaining effective communication between employees and the HR department.
Key Responsibilities
- First point of contact for employees on matters such as HR and time and attendance policies
- Conducts new employee orientations and HR compliance trainings
- Enters new hire information into our payroll and benefits systems
- Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details
- Performs administrative and record-keeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
- Conducts exit interviews and other tasks associated with terminating employees.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Assists with company functions such as quarterly review lunches, holiday parties, etc.
- Assists in payroll processing and recruitment efforts (as needed)
- Performs general administrative duties including scheduling, data entry, scanning, filing, etc.
Supervision of Personnel
- This role will not be responsible for supervision/management of other people.
Qualifications
- Bachelors level degree in Business Administration, or other related field
- 1+ years’ experience in some sort of HR discipline (HR of One, Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Training).
- Possess good working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Ability to professionally handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to analyze issues, document findings, and recommend practical, well-structured solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with HRIS platforms such as UKG Pro or similar timekeeping and HR management systems
Preferred
- Bachelors level degree in Human Resources related studies.
Location This position is 100% in office at our Surrey, British Columbia facilities and may be required to travel and work at our IEM facility locations, including, but not limited to:
