Wood is recruiting for a Project Manager to join its team, focusing on projects in the Food Processing sector. This opportunity is based in Harrowby, Manitoba.

Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role. Living out allowance can be discussed, if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project cost, schedule, and budget
  • Develop and manage proper project documentation such as project charter, project execution plan, commissioning plan, Project RACIx, SHE reviews, WBS and schedule, cost estimate and other project management activities
  • Work with Engineering company and Bunge site and external SMEs to achieve solid engineering package for project scope working through Crush working group and Engineering value center reviews prior to project approval
  • Lead finalizing engineering with engineering company and execute project along with a Construction Manager and Safety Manager
  • Work with local team and SMEs on commissioning and starting up of plant
  • Work with procurement team to achieve final cost estimate and once fully approved purchase equipment for installation helping to develop the RFQs and RFPs
  • Report on progress at least monthly and more often as required
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and handed over to site
  • Ensure the project scope is well defined and agreed among all stakeholders, including project deliverables, assumptions, and risks
  • Manage both internal and external project stakeholders and ensure important, relevant information is communicated regularly to all stakeholders
  • Act as the focal point for all project-related issues, managing issues with client Project Engineers and Wood Discipline Leads
  • Ensure adherence to Wood’s and client project management, change management, and document management procedures and processes
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions, contracts, and invoices within authority level
  • Ensure the baseline cost estimate and schedule reflect the scope
  • Facilitate management review, detailed design clarification meetings, constructability reviews, and closeout meetings
  • Foster an environment of openness, trust, and honesty in support of Wood’s Core Values
  • Ensure that Lessons Learned Reviews are conducted

  • An Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution; Engineers must be registered, or eligible for registration, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred. Other disciplines will also be considered based on relevant experience. PMP will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant engineering and/or project management experience in the processing industry with a proven track record in delivering on schedule and budget; any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved may also be considered
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and objectives with a strong emphasis on project execution
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of both internal and client organization
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and must be a self-starter who takes ownership of tasks through to completion with success
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of P6 considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
