Are you a highly skilled and compassionate nurse looking to make a difference? Quinte Health is seeking dedicated Operating Room (OR) Nurses to join our dynamic inter-professional care team.

Comprehensive Care: Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for preoperative and perioperative patients.

Required
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum of 1 year of acute surgical, critical care, or acute medicine experience, as an RN.
- Completed Perioperative Certificate including clinical placement.
- Current certification in BCLS or CPR, or proof of enrolment in a recertification course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid certificate at the time of hire/transfer.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Available to work all shifts (days, evenings, weekends) and on call duty.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and have strong organizational skills.
- Must have satisfactory work performance and attendance in present position.
- Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review).
- Medical Surveillance is required for personnel routinely working with mechanical equipment and the class of lasers used in the OR. A hearing test and eye exam must be arranged.
Duties
- Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Provides preoperative teaching to patients & families as required.
- Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgment in assessing health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care in the clinic environment (circulating/scrub/laser nurse roles).
- Responsible to work collaboratively with other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care.
- Maintains nursing records.
- Participates in QI programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
