Preferred Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Building Maintenance.

Experience in oil & gas, SAGD, or industrial environments.

Proficiency with SAP, Word, and Excel is considered a strong asset.

Background in HVAC, sprinkler systems, building controls, or BMS systems.
-
5th or 4th Class Power Engineering certification.
-
Experience in mechanical trades, building operations, or related technical fields.
-
Strong troubleshooting abilities and clear communication skills.
-
Additional trade experience (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, Sprinkler tech) is considered a strong advantage.
Trade / Scope Specific project responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

Inspection of existing building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Diagnose the condition of existing building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Perform preventative maintenance on existing building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Recommend best-fit solutions for existing building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Service and repair existing building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Assemble and install new and replacement building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Communicate inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.

Document inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of building infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Follow safety guidelines, approved processes, and procedures on the job site.
-
Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity.
-
Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors.
-
Communicate in a polite and courteous manner.
PPE Requirements
All Building Maintenance Operator personnel are required to wear and maintain the following**personal protective equipment (PPE)**while on site:
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots
- Hard hat (CSA-approved)
- High-visibility vest or clothing
- Protective gloves suitable for general maintenance tasks
- Safety glasses or goggles
- Hearing protection in designated high-noise areas
- Flame-resistant (FR) clothing where required
- Fall protection equipment (harness, lanyard, anchorage) when working at heights
- Respiratory protection when handling chemicals or dust, as required
CP Services provides all required PPE and ensures personnel are trained in its proper use and maintenance in accordance with Alberta OHS legislation and site-specific requirements.
Work Environment
The Building Maintenance Operator role is based onindustrial oil and gas worksites, which may include:
- Remote or rotational camp environments
- Confined spaces (mechanical rooms, utility rooms, equipment enclosures)
- Elevated work areas requiring fall protection
- Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and variable temperatures
- Indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks in industrial and facility environments
All personnel are expected to follow site-specific safety protocols, participate in required safety orientations, and maintain compliance with allAlberta OHS regulations. CP Services prioritizes a safe working environment and ensures employees have the necessary training, supervision, and equipment to perform their duties safely.
Please note the successful candidate will be required to pass a drug and alcohol, fit for work exam, Respiratory Fitness Test, Mask Fit Test, provided by C.P. Services.
Applicantsmust already holdthe following certifications to be eligible for this position. If the successful candidate does not already possess these certifications, they will be required to obtain themat their own expenseprior to commencing work.
