We are seeking a motivated early-career professional to join our Finance & Planning team as a Financial Systems Analyst. This role is ideal for new graduates or junior professionals interested in building experience at the intersection of finance, data, and technology. You will Support financial planning and reporting while gaining hands‑on experience with SAP, analytics platforms, and finance systems alongside experienced finance partners.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Finance, or a quantitative STEM-related field,
  • Demonstrated growth mindset with a track record of taking on new challenges and continuously building technical and business capabilities
  • Strong interest in financial systems, financial modeling, and data analytics
  • The ability to understand business needs and translate them into system or reporting solutions

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expertise in querying and extracting data from SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse (BW), and Azure-based data environments to support financial reporting and planning needs
  • Build capability in data modeling, dashboard development, and reporting using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Power Apps
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes by ensuring data integrity, system accuracy, and model reliability
  • Maintain financial master data and proactively monitor system performance to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting planning and reporting
  • Partner with Financial Analysts and Portfolio Planners to understand business requirements and translate them into system enhancements and reporting solutions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial models, analytics, reporting tools, and planning processes to enhance efficiency and decision-making
  • Develop an understanding of Suncor’s core financial planning cycles (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning) to effectively support enterprise-wide finance functions.

Location & Key Details

  • This is an office-based role located at Suncor’s Calgary head office (Suncor Energy Centre, 150 – 6th Ave S.W.)
  • Standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Compensation for business professional roles follows internal guidelines and is determined based on years of experience, scope of responsibility, and role impact
