About the role
Graham Packaging Canada Limited is looking for a Maintenance Millwright based in Mississauga, ON.
The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for the post-installation maintenance/repair of plant machinery and production equipment, installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls, together with all other activities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Job Responsibilities Job Functions/Tasks
Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls Perform preventative maintenance, adjust machinery and repair / replace defective parts Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment Maintains, repairs, tests and installs electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. conducts preventive maintenance programs and keeps accurate maintenance records May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required Facilitate Lock-Out / Tag-Out procedures.
Job Qualifications Job Requirements
Secondary school graduation Diploma. Industrial mechanic trade certification 433A required. A minimum of two (2) years previous experience in manufacturing required. Superior problem solving and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Has strong interpersonal skills and maintains constructive working relationships. Must have the ability to work independently within a defined/documented schedule. Computer literate and with a working knowledge of MS Office products. Has a clear understanding of potential health and safety hazards within a manufacturing facility and is knowledgeable of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Legislation. MUST have/use all hand tools necessary to perform maintenance and repairs.
