About the role
Westguard is currently seeking professional and reliable Security Guards to support safety and security operations at a high-profile transportation site. This role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, customer-focused, and committed to maintaining a secure environment for passengers, staff, and assets.
As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for monitoring the site, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with established security procedures while upholding Westguard's R.E.A.C.H. values.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the site to ensure safety and security of people and property
- Monitor access points, security systems, and CCTV as required
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations in accordance with site procedures
- Complete daily logs, patrol reports, and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow post orders, site guidelines, and emergency response procedures
- Assist with emergency situations, evacuations, and drills as directed
- Communicate effectively with site staff, emergency services, and internal teams
- Maintain a professional and customer-service–oriented presence at all times
Requirements
- Valid BC Security Worker License
- Valid First Aid Certificate (OFA1 / OFA Basic is a requirement)
- Previous security experience preferred (transportation sites, public facilities, commercial, retail, healthcare, or educational environments considered an asset)
- Basic proficiency with CCTV systems and security equipment
- Strong communication, observation, and reporting skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
This is a full-time graveyard position with shifts scheduled from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Preferred Assets
- Familiarity with fire protection equipment and alarm systems
- Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Law Enforcement, or a related field (asset)
- Bilingual communication skills (English/French) are an asset but not required
