The Client Administration function is a vital part of the firm’s Business Enablement Services and is focused on achieving client service excellence by delivering timely, high quality products, and encouraging an environment that increases both the staff and client experience.
The Engagement Analyst (EA) role supports their local office/business leadership in achieving key business metrics. EAs focus on engagement management through detailed analysis, reporting, and processing of complex transactions using IBS (SAP) to ensure the firm’s leadership has the most accurate and relevant financial information to properly evaluate the performance of their respective business units.
What you will do:
- Be responsible for processing Engagement Management related transactions within the IBS environment, including engagement code closeouts, ERP adjustments, gain and loss realization, bill allocations, and A/R write-offs.
- Conduct regular and ad hoc reporting and analyses with respect to client accounts, including monthly chargeable hours by client, monthly billings by client, etc.
- Regularly review daily reporting information to ensure compliance with local office policies with respect to minimum ERPs, closeouts with large impacts, large unbilled WIP, report findings to Partners and Managers with appropriate follow-up.
- Regularly review Engagement Code setups to ensure correct coding has been used (i.e., BA, profit centre, partner)
- Assist the Business Unit Leaders and Partners with periodic WIP and A/R valuations and US Revenue Reporting
- Follow up on ‘on account’ payments and determine where payment is to be allocated.
- Liaise and coordinate with various internal teams (Risk, IBS implementation, Partner Administrative Assistants, Billing Specialists, A/R, A/P, Financial Analysts) to solve problems within the IBS environment as it relates to engagement setup and delivery.
- Be a source of reference for Partners, Billing Specialists and Partner Administrative Assistants with respect to IBS and HANA Reports, as well as new and existing financial management tools.
- Continuously seek value-add opportunities and process improvements to better serve various stakeholders.
What you bring to the role:
- Strong accounting knowledge.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in billing or finance.
- Previous working experience at a professional services firm is an asset.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
- Technology savvy with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
- Working knowledge of IBS/SAP is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable with strong interpersonal and client service skills.
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $47,000 to $71,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
