Senior Manager / Director of Warehouse Operations
About the role
Are you a proven warehouse operations leader with a passion for Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and TPS principles? Our client, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking a Senior Manager / Director of Warehouse Operations to transform and elevate their warehouse and logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic overhaul of warehouse operations, driving efficiency, safety, and productivity through TPS, Kaizen, and Lean practices.
- Implement load leveling strategies to balance demand, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve flow.
- Ensure forklift traffic management and separation, establishing world-class standards for safety and organization.
- Reorganize storage, material handling, and shipping/receiving areas to maximize space utilization and minimize waste.
- Develop, train, and mentor warehouse teams in continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align warehouse operations with production, supply chain, and customer delivery goals.
Requirements
- Senior-level warehouse/operations leadership experience in an OEM or Tier 1 automotive environment (mandatory).
- Strong background in Toyota Production System (TPS), Lean, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven success in leading warehouse transformation projects, including layout redesign, safety improvements, and efficiency gains.
- Experience with logistics, shipping/receiving, and material handling systems in a high-volume automotive setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a hands-on, improvement-driven mindset.
- Leadership and mentorship skills, including leading Genba, kaizens and driving standard work, 5S and process excellence.
- Budget management experience, including labour and expense management.
