Egis is involved in numerous major infrastructure projects, including the Gatineau Tramway, the extension of Montreal’s Blue Metro Line, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), the GO Transit network expansion megaproject in Toronto, and the extension of the Capital Line in Edmonton.
Job Description
- Reporting to the Project Manager, the Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the overall success of Major Projects in Canada.
- Be the key coordinator on all Program Wide internal projects with various disciplines.
- Lead and manage Program wide projects from inception to completion (this could include, but is not limited to, reconstructions/rehabilitation of railways, airfields, integrated roadways, watermain, storm and sanitary sewer, active transportation infrastructure, utility relocation and coordination, etc.).
- Monitoring industry standards and developments, assessing client needs and making concrete decisions on proposed solutions.
- Monitoring project financial performance and support invoicing of the client.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and internal project team members/disciplines.
- Participating in the preparation of engineering services change orders / proposals for additional effort/work.
- Maintaining control of the schedule to ensure we deliver by agreed-upon due dates.
- Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases, managing existing clients and developing new clients.
- Design and design assistance / support to other Project Managers on project delivery.
- Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors.
- Maintaining positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, internal and external stakeholders.
- Track timelines and submissions of work, support the delivery of these elements.
- Providing technical guidance, support, and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff working on the projects.
Other duties:

As part of the Transportation team, you will be looked on to support the acquisition phase of new major and strategic projects throughout Canada from a Project Management perspective (with a focus on Civil elements – roads/utilities etc.). This will include supporting the bid phases development, acting as a subject matter expert on civil related elements, staff resourcing, support strategic decision making on projects, coordinate among internal and external disciplines, complete costing and scheduling etc.

In a Leadership position within the Transportation team, you will support recruitment and building of a team to support the above activities.
Qualifications
What do we need from you
-
University degree in Engineering, with an Ing. or P.Eng. designation preferred.

At least 10 years of experience in engineering design, project management, or business development within the municipal sector.

Demonstrated expertise in transportation infrastructure design and delivery.
-
Experience leading and managing teams of professionals.
-
Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a detail-oriented mindset.
-
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Proven organizational capabilities and a flexible, solution-driven approach to challenges.
-
Fluency in both written and spoken English - French considered and asset.

A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
