The Opportunity:

As a Communications Coordinator at Refrigerative Supply Limited, you play a pivotal role in strengthening connection, clarity, and engagement across our branches and distribution centers throughout Western Canada. This position enhances both internal communications and public‑facing messaging , ensuring that all communication reflects our culture, values, and organizational direction. You will identify communication gaps, recommend solutions, and execute impactful initiatives that elevate our employee experience and support our employer and corporate brand.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Public Relations

  • Support the development and execution of RSL’s communication strategy to ensure consistent, timely, and transparent messaging across the organization.
  • Assist with employee relations activities, including coordinating announcements, supporting media responses, and ensuring alignment of key messages.
  • Draft clear, engaging talking points, statements, and communication briefs for leadership.
  • Uphold our “Culture by Design” philosophy through consistent tone, messaging, and storytelling across all channels.

Internal Communication & Messaging

  • Strengthen internal communication across branches, distribution centers, and departments through structured, proactive communication practices.
  • Inform and engage employees by crafting and distributing internal updates, announcements, and communication packages.
  • Partner with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure communication is timely, relevant, and accessible to all employees.
  • Identify gaps in communication flow and propose solutions to improve clarity, engagement, and alignment.

Talent Brand & Corporate Presence

  • Lead initiatives that enhance RSL’s employer brand and showcase our culture, people, and values.
  • Create compelling content and campaigns for digital channels that support recruitment efforts and overall brand visibility.
  • Support storytelling that highlights employee success, community involvement, and organizational achievements.

Content Creation & Platform Management

  • Develop, write, and publish content for internal platforms (Intranet, Teams, digital signage) and external platforms (social media, career sites).
  • Ensure all communication channels remain up to date, visually appealing, and aligned with RSL’s tone and brand standards.
  • Produce newsletters, video scripts, presentations, digital assets, and other communication materials.
  • Lead communication initiatives with creative and strategic thinking through collaboration and team brainstorming.

Event Communication & Coordination

  • Support communication needs for key events including town halls, ABMs, community engagements, and culture‑building activities.
  • Prepare event materials such as agendas, slide decks, posters, and recap communications.

Analytics, Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Track engagement and communications performance metrics to understand reach and impact.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to continuously refine communication strategies.
  • Stay informed on communication trends, employer branding best practices, and public relations standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or employer branding.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while executing at a detailed, operational level.
  • Experience supporting public relations, media handling, or external communication initiatives is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and CMS/social media management tools is an asset.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, HR, or a related field.

What we offer:

The target salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 CAD per annum . The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate's relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
